Tips and tricks when playing an escape room

When playing in an escape room, we usually want to quickly find solutions for all the puzzles and bid farewell to the room as soon as possible. There’s a lot of pressure on our shoulders!

Before you participate in it, you should be very prepared so that your experience is not ruined because you didn’t have enough time.

Here are some tips and tricks which can help you while playing an escape room:

Take advantage of every moment while playing the game

The most important thing that players must remember when playing an escape room is “every minute counts”.

You should always try your best to get out of the room instead of just standing around without knowing what to do next.

For example, if there are puzzles that you’re good at solving, don’t rush to other teammates who might not be able to solve them.

You should also look for items that could serve as hints in the early stage of the game, in case you’re stuck.

There are no stupid questions in escape rooms

People tend to get shy when they ask others about what they are struggling with because they don’t want anyone to think that they really cannot do it on their own.

However, there are no stupid questions when playing in an escape room.

The more you talk with your teammates, the faster everyone can gather knowledge and find out the solutions!

Usually, people just need a little push or hint from their teammates so that they suddenly “click” and begin finding clues after that!

It’s better to ask for help immediately instead of waiting until it’s too late.

If you can’t think of anything, make random guesses

If you are really stuck with your puzzles, try making random guesses!

There is no harm in trying even if you might fail; this will at least make the game more interesting.

Random guessing could be very helpful for players who are not very good at puzzle solving or logical reasoning.

You’ll never know whether your decision is correct or not unless you try it out!

Use your phone as a timer (if allowed)

Most escape rooms will give timers to their players to keep track of how long they’ve been playing the game and how much time there is left before everyone gets out.

If your phone does not have its time display on, you can turn it to airplane mode and set your own timer!

You can also use timer apps available in the Google Play Store.

It’s fine to ask for hints (if allowed)

If you are completely stuck with your puzzles and cannot find anything useful within the game, feel free to ask for some help or hints from your teammates or the staff!

Do remember that only one team member should be doing this at a time so as not to slow down the gameplay.

Remember, there is no shame in asking for help if you really need it.

Take pictures of your clues so that everyone knows what they are looking for

If you want to make sure that everyone understands what they need to do, take pictures of the room and all your clues.

This way you can inform everyone on what they should be doing and save them some time from searching for clues that might not actually exist in the game!

No matter what happens, stay positive and have fun!

At the end of it all, remember that playing an escape room is just a game and we only play it for fun.

If there are moments where things go wrong or you make mistakes, don’t feel bad or regretful about whatever has happened because everything will still turn out alright in the end.

So no matter what happens during the gameplay, try to enjoy yourself as much as possible.
