After that was made public, many people voiced their outrage on social media, but the couple said they didn’t regret their decision one bit.

“It was perfect,” the bride said. “We had a small ceremony with just our families and friends present, and the waterfall was so beautiful in the sunset light. We’re glad we did it.” Officials said that as long as the couple took proper safety precautions, their Yosemite Weddings was no problem with them getting married at the falls. Yosemite is a place of incredible natural beauty, and officials want to make sure visitors are able to enjoy it without putting themselves in danger.

She was about to say something more when there was a knock at the door.

“Shawna, it’s me. Are you ready?” Her mother’s voice called through the door

“Yes, just a minute.” She turned back to the mirror and took a deep breath. This was really happening. She adjusted her veil and opened the door to find her mother waiting for her.

“You look beautiful, sweetheart.” Her mother hugged her and then stepped back to take a look at her. “Now, let’s get you married.” The two of them walked out to where Shawna’s husband-to-be waited for her, and with one final look back over her shoulder, she joined him.
